Joined. Jan 4, 2021. Messages. 4. I have tried staball 6.5 in my wife's Sav axis youth in 7mm-08. The accuacy wasn't anything to write home about but it was ok for a cheaper hunting rifle. I worked up loads with the 139 i-lock using the Winchester min to Max (51gr), I found 47 to 48 gr loads were printing 1moa groups.Posts: 6,460. Pikeville, TN. H4350, Big Game, and Varget for me. I have standardized on Big Game, but I used whatever I could get during the late ammo/component shortage. All three were fine in my rifle with Big Game giving similar accuracy with more velocity. I started at 41.5 gr and worked up in 1/2 gr increments. Haven't used RL- 17. 4. You should work up you own powder charges anyways, but in my 7-08 I've always started a grain or two below published data. Mine is a Rem 700 Mountain Rifle with a B&C stock. 22" factory barrel. Win brass for all loads. Primer is Fed 210 currently. 120gr Seirra flat base, H4350, less than 1/2 MOA.The burn rate charts show Superformance to be slower than the 4831's. That's going to be too slow for the 7mm-08. Wonder how long it going to take for experimenters to work up loads for this powder. A high level hobbyist with pressure testing and chrono capacity should be able to handle the task.
